Nothing Like a Steam

Dropping from a cool summer evening into the inside of this overpass was like stepping into a steam room.

Sven, Chris and I had some company that kindly lead us to this deceivingly large concrete internal. Externally this end of the overpass slopes in two directions making for an expansive and interesting interior. A hot day coupled with a great deal of moisture meant it was very balmy. Lenses had to be wiped of condensation regularly.
This shot is a composite – each chamber lit individually using a diffused torch. The port holes provide access to the many chambers and to a second set of step irons leading to another area below. An average shot but a nice location with potential for a great deal more light play – and also a good place to loose weight through perspiration!
