It has been a few weeks since our last group photos. And a new location is always a great way to get us on the street. This disused factory proved quite interesting, while also affording an excellent view from it’s lofty upper floors.

Exposure: 0.8-13s  Aperture: f/8.0  ISO: 100  Focal Length: 10 mm

While walking along the main road towards the entrance someone had the bright idea that we walk in the muddy paddock along side the road so as to “not attract the attention” of the nearby resting truck drivers. Part way though the slushy paddock the very truck drivers we sought to avoid shouted out to us the query “Muddy in there?”. Not our finest moment of stealth.

The whole building was filled with these great weighted fire doors. They brought cold war nuclear bunker flashes to my mind and I could not resist a pose.

We only really took shots completely within the building, not wanting to draw attention to ourselves – there were active sites on most sides. There was a plan to proceed deeper into the building but the hour and a series of rather large closed doors with Poison symbols on them turned us back. Pussies, I know :)

There was a very long dark tunnel leading to an adjacent section (poor photo below, needed higher aperture). However, as one of our compatriots said, you could hear the rust crumbling away as you stepped onto the metal gangway.

Exposure: 10s  Aperture: f/5.6  ISO: 200  Focal Length: 40 mm

So a new location that certainly bears a second look. Though at the moment time is sadly restricting photographic exploits.

(Sven and my battle for the most clever wordplay in blog titles continues. A trend I believe I started but that I may have been bested on this time round :) )

It has come to my attention that this post title may be in breach of copyright. It has been amended and is now…orders of magnitude better :)

Yes, it is certainly improved. Geometrically so :)

That first shot is very clean.

Yeah, maybe not the most interesting shot but the clarity of it did come out very nice.
