Stepping out
Sven and I went to check out the boat we spotted last weekend wreaked on the river bank, in the mangroves, out at Pinkenba. Oh, and Sven wore a suit!

The suit being dark did not expose well in such low light but it was a good idea and I await with eagerness some of the poses Sven captured of himself.

We were experimenting with Sven’s flash popping it while taking shots. I have never really used a proper flash and found it to be quite powerful. This was just supposed to mildly illuminate the suit at 1/64 the flashes power from several meters away. Instead it serves just to clearly show Sven, in a suit, in the mangroves

Finally I popped the flash in the cabin of the boat in this one. Completely desaturated the boat. Should have aimed the flash directly at the door (?). Was trying to get that beam of light coming out the door look.

Anyway as I said to Sven it was nice going out with a specific place in mind, setup take shots, no uming and aring about where to go. We took a quick spin around Fishermans Island on the way back as I had never been. The massive fields of containers could be worth a look in the future though the security out there is quite imense.

I actually quite like that one of you. Bit abstract. Pity I was not angled up more to get the hat!
Kelli’s first comment – “Has he got a hat on!?”
Personally, I think your model looks rather uncomfortable… and the GUMBOOTS do detract from the suit just a little. A good idea though. It’s definitely nice to see more people in the pics
Let’s not forget, that’s not just a hat, it’s a trilby.
Come now. He is just a humble businessman, stepping off the stock exchange floor to take a rather important call, out in the mangroves. What’s uncomfortable about that?
With any luck this will be the nearest place city workers can smoke in years to come.
Is that last one HDR? It has that high-contrast etched look… or is that the result of the ‘punch’ process you mentioned?
No HDR. Just desaturated red/orange making the boat almost BW and slight contrast increase I think.
Though I noticed on these images (the smaller version in particular) have fairly aggressive sharpening done by Flickr.
